Quota International of Moranbah’s 2020 High Tea event this month saw more than 100 women from across the region join forces over sumptuous sandwiches and English Breakfast to raise much-needed funds for charity.
This year, the event raised more than $12,000 to help assemble birthing kits and install hearing amplification systems across Moranbah’s local schools, as well as other local projects.
Stanmore Coal was pleased to contribute $2,000 towards the annual get-together, which continues to draw large numbers from the community.
Quota International of Moranbah Secretary, Marcia Goulevitch, said the High Tea welcomed women from all walks of life.
“We had nurses and doctors, school teachers, office workers and mine workers attend — it was fantastic to see such great support from a variety of women,” Marcia said.
“All agreed the best part of the day was taking the time to sit, relax and catch up with friends.”
Quota International of Moranbah is a non-profit organisation that aims to empower women, children, the deaf and hard-of-hearing, and people with speech difficulties in the Moranbah community.
Since the High Tea fundraisers commenced in 2012, more than $90,000 has been raised for important community projects.
